Safeguarding statement
Last updated: 8 July 2026 · Build v6.5
If the Association hosts or supports family/children-facing activity, safeguarding must be planned before activity expands. This page creates the baseline standard.
Boundary: This page is an operating standard for the Association. It is not legal, financial, tax, medical or safeguarding advice. Use qualified professional support where needed.
Baseline commitments
- Children remain the responsibility of their parent, guardian or authorised adult unless a separate supervised arrangement is clearly agreed.
- Events should use suitable venues, visible conduct rules, consent-aware photography practices and incident records.
- Helpers should have named roles, clear boundaries and appropriate checks where the activity requires them.
- Concerns should be recorded and escalated to appropriate statutory or professional services where necessary.
- The Association should avoid one-to-one unsupervised access to children unless the role, checks, consents and safeguards are properly in place.
Photography and media
Family events should use consent-led photography and publication rules. No child’s image should be used in public promotional material without appropriate consent and review.
Incident flow
Step 1Record
Write down what happened, when, who was involved and any immediate action taken.
Step 2Stabilise
Keep people safe, stop the activity if needed and avoid informal speculation.
Step 3Escalate
Use the appropriate venue, safeguarding, police, NHS or local authority route where risk requires it.
Step 4Review
Record outcome and update event planning, conduct rules or helper roles.
